The form includes a checklist of what to include with your application. Extra information you may need includes:

NB: Check with the office, as we may still have copies of your documents in our archives, although if these are not certified, we will ask you for certified copies. If you do not have your actual qualification document/s, copies of your transcripts will be sufficient if they clearly indicate that you have graduated. We will also accept a letter from the training institution stating that you have graduated.
  • Insurance Guide and First Aid Guide(practicing full members only). You DO NOT have to have insurance or first aid in order to join, you can forward the documents once you have them, but we cannot list you as a practicing full member until we receive them.
  • Continuing Professional EducationONLY if you have not given us CPE for more than 12 months. You will need evidence of 50 points of CPE acquired over the last 12 months.

2. POST your membership form and documents to the NHAA. Remember, we must have the orginal certified copies of your documents, so faxed or scanned copies are not acceptable.

How to apply if you are JOINING for the FIRST TIME

If you are joining as a FULL member for the FIRST time, how you apply depends on whether your course was accredited with us. Other factors such as when you graduated and how recently you were in practice may also have a bearing on your application.

Was your course accredited with us? Apply via Clause 1

  • To see if your qualification is (or was) accredited, go to NHAA Accredited Courses.
  • Your course does not have to be currently accredited. You may also be eligible if you completed a previously accredited course.
  • You must have ENROLLED in the course while it was accredited.

If your course was not accredited and / or never has been with us. Apply via Clause 2

If you are unsure, please contact the office

Apply via Clause 1

Clause 1 is for those who have completed an NHAA accredited course. This means the course has been pre-approved to meet our training requirements and graduates are eligible for full membership.

Clause 1 applications are normally processed within a week of us receiving the required paperwork.

Apply via Clause 2

Clause 2 is for those who have not completed an NHAA accredited course. Because we do not know the course content or your level of clinical experience, we need more information from you to determine your eligibility for full membership.

In processing a Clause 2 application, our examiners cross-check your individual course subjects and hours against our training requirements. They also take into consideration any other training and clinical experience. Thus the process can take between 1-3 weeks, depending on the level of information you supply. Once you submit your paperwork, you will be contacted by one of our examiners who will keep you up to date with progress and let you know if there is anything else they need.
