Castor oil poultice

Native to India the castor oil plant is otherwise known as Ricinus communis. Used as a poultice it may help reduce inflammation and relieve period pain, muscle sprains, bruising and arthritic pain.
- Place castor oil in a pan and heat.
- Do not boil.
- Dip a piece of
cheesecloth or other white cotton material into the oil until the cloth
- Apply the cloth to the affected area and cover with a
piece of plastic or wool and use it to keep the pack warm.
- Keep the pack
in place for 1-2 hours, as required.
