Lavender is a calming & relaxing herb. It can help relive the symptoms of a headache, as well as calm muscle tension. It is calming to the nervous system, soothing stress. This cordial is delicately flavoured, & may be a calming drink for excited children, or a relaxing time out for a busy adult. Enjoy with still or sparking water.
1 ½ cups of water
½ cup edible Lavender flowers (or 2 tablespoons dried)
1 small lemon
½ cup sugar
Wash & shake flowers dry.
Boil sugar & water in a saucepan
Turn off the heat & add lavender
Cover & allow to steep for 45 minutes. Strain & add lemon juice.
Pour into clean jars & store in the fridge. For a stronger lemony flavour add thin strips of lemon peel to the saucepan with the lavender (no white pith). Strips of peel can also be added to the bottle for decoration.
