Understanding the Code of Conduct 2026

Understanding the updated Code of Conduct – What it means for your practice

From patient communication and professional boundaries to using AI, ethical practice touches every part of your working day.

Join the NHAA for a Knowledge at Noon session exploring the updated Code of Conduct for Australian Naturopaths and Western Herbal Medicine Practitioners and what it means for your practice.

Developed collaboratively by NHAA, ANTA, ANPA and CMA, the Code provides a shared framework for safe, ethical and professional care. It took effect on 15 September 2026 and applies across in-person consultations, telehealth and digital communications.

The session will help members become familiar with the Code and consider its guidance across key areas, including:

– Patient communication, informed consent and privacy
– Professional boundaries and scope of practice
– Trauma-informed care and cultural safety
– Professional behaviour, advertising and conflicts of interest
– Responsible use of AI and digital health technologies

Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, join us to reflect on your professional responsibilities and how the Code supports everyday practice.
