The NHAA has a range of membership categories designed to accommodate students, general interest, professional requirements and more. See below for detailed information on the various membership categories.

Membership Details & Rates

Current Specials

Join as a Full member within 12 months of graduating and Receive 50% off membership fees for the financial year that you join (pro-rated) AND 25% off membership fees the following year.

Student membership is FREE for all students enrolled in an NHAA recognised herbal medicine or naturopathic degree.


Full membership

Full Membership of the NHAA is open to herbalists and naturopaths who have met our training requirements. You can join as a Practicing or Non Practicing full member. We have two types of application process, depending on whether or not your course is currently or has previously been recognised by us, OR has never been recognised by us. We welcome applications from everywhere including new graduates, experienced practitioners, those with older or overseas qualifications or those looking to change associations.

Full membership benefits include:

  • Online access to the quarterly Australian Journal of Herbal & Naturopathic Medicine
  • Annual TGA Advertising Exemption Certificate
  • The ability to obtain professional indemnity insurance
  • The right to supply GST free consultations
  • Access to the member sections of our website and practitioner forums, including the professional guidance section.
  • Regular industry updates via website and E-News
  • Discounts to NHAA seminars, conferences and training programs
  • Use of the Association’s name, initials and logo 
  • Full Association voting rights

Australia
Membership (inc. GST) is $356.00 for 2023/2024 financial year. Rates are pro-rata, to the end of the financial year.

Please note that NHAA membership is for a fixed period so once paid, there are no refunds.

International
Membership (ex. GST) is $323.64 for 2023/2024 financial year. Rates are pro-rata, to the end of the financial year.

Associate membership

Associate membership (previously Companion membership) of the NHAA is open to any individual with an interest in herbal medicine or naturopathy.

Please note that as an Associate member you are not entitled to use the NHAA name or initials in any form, or in any way imply that you are a full or practitioner member of the NHAA.

Associate membership benefits include:

  • Online access to the quarterly Australian Journal of Herbal & Naturopathic Medicine
  • Access to relevant member sections of our website.
  • Discounts to NHAA seminars, conferences and training programs
  • Regular industry updates via website and E-news 

Australia
Membership (inc. GST) is $244.00 per annum for 2023/2024 financial year. Rates are pro-rata, to the end of the financial year.

International
Membership (ex. GST) is $221.82 per annum for 2023/2024 financial year. Rates are pro-rata, to the end of the financial year.

Student membership

Student membership of the NHAA is free to those currently undertaking formal studies in herbal or naturopathic medicine.  Your course now needs to be recognised by the NHAA for you to be a student member.

Student membership benefits include:

  • Student Membership is free!
  • Online access to the quarterly Australian Journal of Herbal & Naturopathic Medicine
  • Access to the member sections of our website, including the professional guidance section.
  • Access to discussion board forums and viewing rights to some practitioner forums
  • Regular industry updates via website and E-News
  • Discounts to NHAA seminars, conferences and training programs

All students enrolled in an NHAA accredited Naturopathic or Herbal Medicine Degree are eligible for free student membership with the NHAA.

Student membership does not allow you to practice outside of your supervised Student Clinic.

Corporate membership

Corporate membership is a special category of NHAA membership that allows those involved with the herbal medicine industry to be associated with and participate in the activities of the Naturopaths andl Herbalists Association without the need for full training.

The category is open to companies, corporations, institutions and other parties who have a genuine interest in supporting and furthering an ethical herbal medicine industry and profession in Australia.

There are four levels of Corporate membership, with the membership running on a financial year basis.
