Chapter Meetings

NHAA local chapters are groups set up and run by NHAA full members in their local communities. They are open to both members and non members and are aimed at supporting and encouraging networking within their local area, they run regular meetings, talks, outings and events and are a valuable source of support and information for all that attend. Other benefits include:

  • Students & non members are welcome to participate.
  • Talks & presentations on a wide range of topics relevant to Herbal Medicine.

Speaker: Monica Francia
Monica Francia (she/her) lives and works on the lands of the Palawan people of Lutruwita. She is a queer Naturopath, Nutritionist and Medicinal Herb Farmer balancing her time between clinical practice, working at Goulds Natural Medicine and growing and making medicine at Rocky Top Herbs. She is the chapter coordinator for Hobart Herbalists Without Borders, a non-profit organisation that runs 3 Free Community Naturopathic Clinics per month in Lutruwita / Tasmania as well as regular community events. She has a strong sustainability and social justice lead practice and is passionate about improving access to Naturopathic Medicine.

Sue has been in clinical practice for over 26 years and in that time, she has consulted and guided 1000’s of people through their healthcare journey. After studying for over 10 years, and acquiring 3 post graduate qualifications, Sue works to understand the nature of clients health concerns, using traditional thinking and the best evidence-based information to create holistic, manageable, and individualised treatment plans.
